Monster High Fang Vote 2026:
Abbey Bominable

Posted: January 18th, 2026

The Monster High Fang vote is annually hosted by Mattel Creations. Fans, called "Fangs" decide how the made-to-order (MTO) collectors doll will be designed based on options given.

The event is open to Fang Club dismembers only ($10/yr USD) and has two rounds of voting.

  • Round One: January 16th - January 18th, 2026
  • Round Two: January 23rd - January 25th, 2026

  • 🌨️ At first ghoulance: ❄️

My first observation is how intricate her design is, showcasing a fur lined puffer coat along with the inside of her dress reminiscent of tapestry. My eye was immediately drawn to the details of the embroidered patterns and what appears to be a depiction of her origins` within the icy tundra. I almost didn't realize she isn't wearing shoes, which oddly works with this design.

The materials appear high quality, although I'm not a fan of matte plastic accessories. I feel it cheapens the design and would prefer some sort of chrome or metallic finish. It's not a deal breaker, but with a Fang Vote retail price of typically $90 USD, it would add more dimension to the doll.

Her bodice breaks up the shape of the dress nicely along with the fitted sleeves. Those small details are the difference between a chunky design and being well balanced. When I look at her overall shape, I see a triangle. Perhaps Abbey's outfit is meant to have a moutain-esque silhouette?

🌨️ Skin, hair, and nails ❄️

I LOVE her frosted skin, how it glistens and adds texture. Her ice kissed hair color with muted shades of blues, purples, and pinks mixed with iridescent tinsel are just enough to stay true to her color scheme without overpowering the main attraction, her dress.

Her hair and headwear options frame her face well and give a "snow queen" appearance, especially when one considers the ball gown silhouette of the bottom half of her dress. The fur option highlights her signature headwear while the icy crown is elegant. As much as I love the crown, the fur option suits the dress better. I hope they reuse the crown in the future! I am not partial to either of the hair. If only we could have both!

    wait.......

.......Can we talk about the PSA in the Behind the Screams notes below? This is hexciting news! Regardless of which hairstyle wins, all is not lost. They will make the hair length and material the same, so restyling to the preferred option will be possible.

Makeup options show a bold/dark vs softer/brighter look, the latter staying true to her full color scheme. I adore the darker look. It goes well with the the dress' dark color scheme, especially the embroidery.

I picture an ice queen roaming through the mountains at dusk, during the dead of winter, standing out from the snow, yet blending with the night sky and shadows of the mountains. She embodies her environment. The subtle purples within her eyes and hair in comparison, is just right.

I am rooting for the dark makeup look.

The choice between her nails is interesting; they look like claws! How monstrous! Like the bold vs soft look of the makeup, the black/grey nails stand out, although I am LOVING how both nail colors bleed into her hands. As you may have guessed, I prefer the dark nail option. The black/grey with white patterned designs contrasting it gives a primal and fierce look, as well as a beautifully frost-bitten appearance. "Abbey, daughter of the Abominable Snow couple." The shade of purple does not give Abominable to me.

The earring options paired with the nails perfectly fit the mood of each option. Classy snowflake design with dangling crystals goes well with the bright purple nails, while the spiked crystal gives an alternative fierce and preferable look. Frostbitten fingers and ice bitten ears, but make it cute yet monstrous.

    🌨️ Will I buy this doll?❄️

As it stands now, no, but that could change. I can appreciate the effort and quality, but I'm not fan of the dress. I am a fan of the doll herself, but the finished product is still in the fang dismembers hands. I feel like the brighter options are so out of place. The winner seems clear cut, but who knows!

(Unrelated but...Anyone else cracking up at her bald head?)
