Me and my companion Tanlorian in Apocrypha

➤ Why do I play?

What makes this one of my favorite MMOs?

I log into this game and nothing else matters. After a long day at work, I am transported to a beautiful open world and explore to my heart's content. No direction, no prompting, just run in any direction and I will find someone, something or someone will find me, then I am off on a quest.

I cannot emphasize how much I love the voice acting. Every NPC has a voice, which is one of the first QOL aspects that stood out to me. So many loveable and silly characters made even more so because the voice acting keeps the immersion. The quests and lore are interesting enough for me to listen to their entire dialogue and take my time. They are well thought out which is a saving grace for quests that would otherwise feel like they drag on and on.

After a long day of deadlines and being told what to do at work, Elder Scrolls Online progresses at the pace that YOU want and there are soo many opportunities to XP boost as well ! Some days I soley go on quests, fast traveling as much as possible. Other times I mount up or go on foot and take the scenic route. It's cathartic listening to the music, harvesting, and finding areas of interest in between quest locations. I also love the different cultures and architecture.

If I want more hardcore gameplay I simply find world bosses and instanced or public dungeons. Now if I am REALLY looking for punishment, I head over to the Undaunted Enclave and enter higher difficulty dungeons that I may or may not finish or the infinite Archives where I fight my way through stages to see how far I can go until the final boss. Back when I was in a guild, I also went to Trials which are the most difficult dungeons for veteran players that took hours to beat with the 12 of us. I miss those days but guild activities eat up so much time, so now I am a casual player.

Without rambling too much longer I can be a crafter, scryer, steal/pick pocket (and face the consequences but also level up skills lol), hunt for treasure, go on home tours, specialize in one or many builds, weapons, and skill lines (you are not locked in like other games). Play PVP, decorate my avatar/companion, decorate my house. If I am playing with someone else, I can decorate THEIR house. If playing with friends, we can all specialize in a craft and help each other upgrade items and/or focus on having a balanced group of tanks, dps, and healers. Pick a play style and just run with it or make multiple characters to specialize even further. I still haven't gotten into all the features in the game !

Do anything, be anything. No worrying about pay to win. I will say there ARE loot boxes but there is no pressure to pull. I often forget they even exist because the game on its own is enough. I rarely get bored and have never felt like I am falling behind.

Blood, Rose, and Bats

March 27th, 2026

My first recall (teleportation animation). Three events. Months of questing and patiently waiting, and we are finally here. I have been plotting to get the Roseblood Bat Recall since the Doomchar Plateau hunt, and finally aquired it during the Jester Festival 2026.

My First Event house

February 6th, 2026

Screaming, crying, and throwing up!

I was visiting player homes, came across the "Doomchar Plateau" and immediately fell in love. I HAD to know the next time it would enter the in game store, so I could purchase it !

After finding the answer, I fell to my knees and screamed in agony when I realized I could only obtain it during specfic event periods using event tickets to purchase each component of the house. Great timing because my chance was approaching.

The New Life Festival event went smoothly. Completed quests and cashed in tickets for event items, then saved up tickets near the end for the house components.

The following event was based in the PVP Zones Cyrodiil and Imperial City. I almost didn't participate as I am not fond of fighting other players, but that house was CALLING to me ! It ended up being fun though! (yet still iritating). We took over a few towns in Cyrodiil and districts in Imperial City and I scored a good amount of crystals (currency). I wish I recorded a video of the fights! All I can say is: I HATE YOU ALDMERI DOMINION.

Our last PVP outing was actually great. "Don't start none, won't be none" was motto of the day because we ran past players from other Alliances and we ALL minded our business. Then we hopped out for the moment I was waiting for:
