About

About this page:

I post pictures of food, gush about food, and jott down notes to look back on.

Restrictions:

Between recently discovered and life long sensitivities/allergies, Auto Immune Diseases and Dysautonomia, here are examples of some of my food restrictions.

I sometimes have to compromise what I eat because it's nearly impossible to cut everything out of my diet, PLUS it can be depressing, so I indulge for my sanity once in while.

  • Inflammatory foods

  • High histamine foods

  • Excess/Added sugar

How have these changes improved my life?

Blood Work

Before all my physical and mental changes, my blood work improving was the first indication that I was feeding my body foods that didn't trigger my immune system response as much. My thyroid was producing enough hormones, my body began to absorb Vitamin D better, and so on.

Mobility

I was on track to becoming bed bound or with limited mobility because these foods cause widespread joint and muscle pain/swelling and fatigue. My pain and fatigue still reach unbearable levels, but I can't imagine how much worse it would be if I didn't prioritize what I consume.

Skin

These changes are what made me realize some of my sensitivities have been lifelong. My skin has produced excess oil since puberty, and I suffered from cystic acne up until I changed my diet. About a year in, I noticed that my skin type became significantly less oily (no long shiny) and my cystic acne flare up had calmed down.

Hair

I have always had thick hair, but it turns out the patches of thinning hair and my light sparce eyebrows were because of gluten affecting hair growth.

Nails

My nails are growing fast and strong now! They always used to be short and paper thin.

Body

My body was always itchy, ranging from annoying to painful. No longer the case, to that extent.

My face and neck swelling went down. I've always had a round baby face, so no one suspected that my "moon face" was abnormal.

I think I'm starting to get a handle on my bloating, since I started cutting back on high histamine food in late February early March 2026. I will need to post an update in a few months.

Mind

I have cognitive issues such as brain fog, but it would be MUCH worse if I didn't change my diet.

Gryo meat Bowl 🥗

I've never had Gryo meat this crispy. I can't stop thinking about how scrumshus it was ! I debated getting extra Kalamata Olives because I wanted to see what their usual serving looked like, and they gave me a lot. I love olives so I was happy, but it was overkill for sure. I think this was my first time trying this kind and whew they were STRONG...like let me gulp down some water before my kidneys dissolve from this salt.

My blood pressure has been giving me issues all week and those olives finally brought it over 100 systolic (even after taking salt pills earlier that day). Felt like I was popping pills. This was medicine to me, I felt better with each handful of bites LOL.

The entire meal is worth getting again, aside from the sauce. It tasted like I dipped my tongue in a can of paint.

Thanksgiving Meal 2025 🦃

What I ate for Thanksgiving. I had a savory tooth this year, one cookie was enough.

Homemade Food Dump (Gluten Free/Dairy Free) 🍕

Hmm. Noticing an unintentional color scheme going on.

From left to right:

  • Pizza, with pesto sauce, broccoli, turkey sausage
  • Pasta (veggie blend), pesto with parmesan
  • Corn Fritters
  • Chex mix with peanut and cashew (marshmallow added after baking)
  • Chicken, Potatoes, Corn 🌽

Delicous food at Harry Potter world at Universal Studios ! Wish I could taste it again. One of the better meals I had during a work trip.

    Lettuce Wrap 🍴

I have been thinking about this since I ate it for the first time. Lettuce wraps are usualy simple meals from what I've eaten in the past, but this meal was so filling and full of flavor. I was thinking the entire time, "Is my meal getting smaller with each bite?" "No, no..we can't have that. My food is infinite." There I went mourning what had yet to be lost again.

The sushi? I did not touch the sauces because they were way too spicy, but on its own it was oddly sweet? I couldn't stomach it, but I ate everything. Part of me wants to try this again next time, but with some GF soy sauce to take the edge off the sweetness.

    GF/DF Asian Sir Fry 🍴

THIS WAS SO GOOD! I could have gotten a better picture but I guess I was too excited to try LOL. UNFORTUNATELY still had an allergen, but what can you do !

    Beef and Hummus 🍴

I thought I could handle it...the food touching eachother. It was tasty, but looking it makes my stomach turn because the the two textures mixing.

    Suuussshiiiiiiiiiiiii 🍣

    Sushi, veggie tempora, Teriyaki chicken

    Breakfast 🍴

Blueberries, potatoes, spinach, cheese (dairy >//<) & mushrooms.

Trader Joes Chicken Shawarma Bowl 🥣

The only allergen present is milk, which is hard to avoid, but its one compared to three+ so.. small wins.

As for the taste, it was right down the middle! Neither good nor bad, but I would eat this again. There was enough spice to give the meal a nice kick without being overwhelming. Aside from the spice, nothing else stood out aside from the bell peppers. A shame because I was excited about tasting how well the garlic sauce meshed with the other ingredients.

Can't wait to try the next batch and see if I warm up to it more.

    GF/DF Nachos 🍴

Chicken, DF Cheese, Salsa Verde, Black Olives, Onions, Corn, DF Sour Cream.

    Kimbap 🍣

My first time eating Kimbap. Super quick to pop in the microwave and was so satisfying.

    Sushi 🍣

    2025

Sushiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. Sushi is so pretty to look at.
The day I ate here, I watched a bunch of 80's movies earlier, then happened to see a group of young women with glasses and hairstyles right out of the 80s lol.

    Keylime Pie 🥧

    2025

Bad decisions were made (definately NOT allergen free!), but tastes from heaven directly prepared by god were felt.
Safe to say that the second peice will not be touched for a while lol.

    GF/Night Shade free Spagetti 🍜

    2025

Was craving spagetti, so we used chickpea noodles (can't eat gluten) and tried out a "Nomato" sauce since I also cannot eat Tomatoes. The sauce turned out fine, although it didn't taste spot on like the description of the recipe said ! Will definately make it again! Best Ever Nomato Sauce (AIP Nightshade Free Marinara)

    Pancakes 🥞

    2025

Had some fun with (GF/DF) pancake shapes.

    Pad Thai 🍽️

    2025

Looks as good as it tastes !

Waffle House: Chicken Melt Hashbrown Bowl 🥔

    2025

Eating dairy was worth it. I LOVE this meal from Waffle House. This presentation was the best I've seen. Normally its all broken up when I get it.
Waffle house grills their chicken so well. Not to salty or anything.

    Sushi 🍣

    2025

Honey sauce on sushi (pictured left) is good in theory, but the sweetness has me wanting to throw up.

The sushi on the right was a great serving of savory. I would definitely try more savory rolls next time. I've never seen a sushi shop with so many choices !

    Dinner 🍴

    2025

Sliced potatoes with DF mozzarella cheese, chicken wings, baked brussel sprouts and baked radish.

    Snicker's Ice Cream dupe? 🍫

    2025

PLANT BASED SNICKER'S ICE CREAM BAR DUPE???? I miss this frozen treat so much. I had it for the first time recently. I hope they don't discountinue it because so many good foods suffered the same fate. Its hard having food restrictions because I don't have many choices to begin with.

    Breakfast 🍽️

    2025

A few light homecooked breakfasts. Oneday, the fruit and veggies might be homegrown.

    Mexican 🍲

    2025

Burrito bowl! I love Mexcian food so much.

    Plane food 🍽️

    2025

A meal served in the First Class section of a plane I flew on. I believe it was assorted grains, and was tastier than I expected. Granted, I was pretty hungry since I have food restrictions and don't have a lot of choices when traveling. I didn't get to eat the cake because of this.

I do think it was objectively good, and I would eat it again given the chance. I love how colorful it was !
